Oakland Unified School District Mural Project Overview
Project Timeline: April 14 – May 29
This project involves the creation of three murals at Lockwood Elementary, Montera Middle School, and Fremont High School. Each mural will span 2–3 weeks, with a combination of during-school, after-school, and weekend painting times. Each school will host a kickoff event to engage the community and launch the project. The hope is to get the school community to come together around the theme of access & belonging, not only through this artistic journey, but also by piloting a tool (the Access & Belonging guide).
