Painting the Town, Changing Lives mural

Community residents and artists came together to work on the "Painting the Town, Changing Lives" mural at Little Haiti Park. The popular soccer park transformed into a massive open museum of hand-painted murals on each wall, making it larger than Wynwood Walls. Pinnacle Housing Group undertook the project in partnership with MLK Community Mural Project. More than 40 teachers from Teach for America were on hand helping school kids paint the walls.

One Young World Pittsburgh

More than 40 international delegates to the first One Young World summit in the United States met on Oct. 12, 2012 with teen participants in the MLK (Moving the Lives of Kids) Community Mural Project, a public art project with deep Pittsburgh roots. Students, delegates and Kyle Holbrook, an Art Institute grad and MLK's executive artist, explain.
