International Artist Kyle Holbrook Unveils “Peace” Mural in Casablanca during Ramadan

Casablanca, Morocco — Renowned international muralist Kyle Holbrook has unveiled a powerful new public artwork titled Peace in the heart of Casablanca’s Old Medina. Located on Rue de Mediouna, facing Dar Touzani, the mural stands within one of Casablanca’s most active street art corridors, transforming a quiet wall into a bold visual statement for unity during a time of global tension.

Painted during the sacred month of Ramadan, the mural arrives at a moment when conflict and instability continue to escalate globally, including rising tensions involving Iran. Holbrook, currently traveling across multiple countries on his Real Peace Mural Tour, chose Casablanca intentionally recognizing the significance of creating a message of peace as an American artist working within a Muslim country during a spiritually reflective time.

The mural features a striking black-and-white hand forming the universal peace sign, layered with flowing orange forms reminiscent of movement, energy, and continuity. Subtle text elements reinforce the message: to transcend division and recognize shared humanity.

“This piece is about presence and intention,” said Holbrook. “To be here in Casablanca during Ramadan, as an American, painting a message of peace it’s not just symbolic, it’s necessary. Art has always been a universal language, and right now the world needs translation.”

Holbrook’s work in Casablanca draws inspiration from the region’s rich artistic heritage, particularly the intricate geometry and rhythm found in traditional Moroccan patterns. The flowing orange elements echo the movement of Islamic design organic yet precise while the mural’s composition balances contemporary street art with centuries-old visual traditions.

“Moroccan art teaches you about harmony,” Holbrook added. “The patterns, the repetition, the balance it’s all rooted in unity. That same philosophy is what this mural represents. Peace isn’t passive, it’s designed. It’s built, layer by layer, just like these patterns.”

Located in a highly visible street art zone in the Old Medina, the mural contributes to Casablanca’s growing reputation as a hub for contemporary urban art. Facing Dar Touzani, the piece invites both locals and international visitors to pause, reflect, and engage with its message.

Holbrook’s global mural tour spans multiple continents and cultures, with each piece centered around themes of inclusion, dialogue, and human connection. His Casablanca mural stands as a reminder that even amid geopolitical conflict, grassroots artistic expression can serve as a bridge between worlds.

“In times of war, artists have a responsibility,” Holbrook said. “Not to take sides but to take a stand for humanity. Peace is the only direction forward.”
