The Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta is always a family favorite in Pittsburgh. It is a major boat race in Pittsburgh that happens every year along the rivers around point state park in downtown Pittsburgh. The last day of events is 4th of July and it comes to a close with amazing fireworks. This year MLK Mural teamed up with Imagine Pittsburgh and the Three Rivers Regatta to create a 120 foot long community mural project where 2,400 Pittsburghers were able to come an participate. The mural was divided into thousands of 6" squares and every spectator was encouraged to decorate their piece of the mural. Over the course of the 3 days of events the mural came together. The imagery of the Enviromural was about the green industry, the recreation, nature along the rivers of Pittsburgh. The whole mural was documented by a CMU Create-lab Gigapan. This amazingly large undertaking was a huge success.
