On Saturday March 22nd, 2014 we invite all members of the community to participate in a community paint day and kickoff event while enjoying a day of food music and art.
The Amberwood Place Community Mural Project has selected the six professional Artists and 10 local youth artists through a community process and contest. The three-week project will pair local aspiring artists with professional artists to create a 100-foot long community mural to be located at Amberwood Place. The images express the history, culture, and future of Longview Texas.
The winners of the six professional artist positions were announced on December 12 2013 at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts in the Art Works Education Room located on Tyler Street in Downtown Longview. Youth Artists submitted drawings and were selected by a panel of community members that judged the youth’s artwork, and the winners were announced earlier this year. Each of the 10 youth artists will receive a stipend for their contribution to the project.
